Yes Matron aka Mark Ashton Matron aka Mark Ashton is a London-based drag artist, compere and promoter. He/she/they can mostly be found hosting a very successful Sunday lunchtime traditional drag cabaret event called CampFruit which is held in the legendary Club Room at The Bedford Pub, home to stand-up comedy, live music and all-round variety. Here audiences can treat themselves to an afternoon of sit-down live drag cabaret from amazing drag guest stars, enjoy a Sunday roast off The Bedford Pub’s extensive menu, wash it back with a fine wine and signature cocktails and still be home in time for Countryfile. This Matron prescribes! And what she prescribes comes mostly off the top shelf in the form of gin, vodka or the Pinot Noir or Sancerre grape varieties! She may be a lush, but she is a very expensive lush! Matron is the original tart with a heart. Having survived seven husbands, she is on the hunt for number eight!
