Leicester Pride 2023
Pride Events is excited to announce Leicester Pride 2023, taking place on Saturday, September 2nd at Abbey Park. This annual event brings together the LGBTQIA+ community in Leicester for a day of celebration, community and equality and is their 15th anniversary!
The event starts at 12 noon with a parade through the city centre, leading to the festival site at Abbey Park. Everyone is welcome to join the parade and larger groups are encouraged to register via the official website in advance. Please note that no glass bottles are allowed on the parade and much of the route runs through the city’s alcohol-free zones.
Once at Abbey Park, the festival begins, admission is free and open to all, celebrating diversity and inclusivity in the Leicester community. Leicester Pride is a family-friendly event, with entertainment and activities suitable for all ages. The main stage features live performers, dance acts, and cabaret from across the country, while the DJ tent showcases the best local DJs.
Leicester Pride draws in over 10,000 attendees each year, with more than 2,000 participants in the parade. The event has been running for 8 years and has grown from a small city-based event to a full-scale festival at Abbey Park.

Leicester Pride History
Leicester Pride is an annual LGBTQIA+ pride event, and it started in 2011.
The launch project intended to involve the lesbian and gay community in the production of the Leicester Pride Carnival, promoting better understanding of LGBTQIA+ issues.
The event is completely free, and starts with a parade from the city centre to Abbey Park.
